AXEL RUDI PELL : "Kings and Queens"       axel rudi pell             SPV

review  by Dimitris "Heartcollector83" Theodoropoulos____

New album for Axel Rudi Pell and the music style hasn't changed a bit. From Axel Rudi Pell you always know you'll hear good catchy songs but some long epics as well full with emotional melodies and huge choruses. His songs are easy to listen to, and we can only have good time with them.

Kings and Queens after a small instrumental intro kicks in with the powerful Flying' High, a fast and melodic song with a catchy chorus to sing along. A Power metal song which will surely sound great live.

The album continues with Cold Heaven which is a pretty good song, once again nice melodies from the guitar and Strong as a Rock follows, another good song.

Next is a beautiful ballad under the name Forever Angel. Very good one this one. Gioeli's vocals are in high standards as always, he pushes the song to the top.

Legions of Hell is the first epic of the album and at 8 minutes duration it makes me want to hit the repeat button. A brilliant song that shines like a diamond in this very good overall album. Dramatic singing from Gioeli and Axel delivers a killer solo. The chorus is just super.

Only the Strong will survive is the next song and is the vein of the first tracks, pretty much the same style, nothing more, nothing less.

Sailing Away is a slow song a bit different from all the other songs of the album. A nice ballad with some decent guitar work from Axel.

The next song is Take The Crown which starts as a ballad and becomes a great metal song, probably the song that i liked the most from the whole CD. Along with Legion Of Hell, Take the Crown is another masterpiece.

Last song of the album is Sea of Evil, an 8 minute ballad, slow and majestic. Nice tune to close the album with.

All in all we have a very good album from Axel Rudi Pell once again. The songs are pleasant to listen to and you get in the mood of the album really easy. Nice CD to listen to after you get home from work and want to listen to something good.
