Currently,
the Electro Music movement is a pain in the ass of many
Headbangers and Metal Girls. This commercial bullshit is
responsible, that the youth today can’t see Alternative Music
videos on TV channels like MTV or VIVA anymore. Furthermore it’s
strange when a Dubstep / Drum’n’Bass party starts after a
Metal show. Such a thing doesn’t match together but it happened
tonight and was responsible for a streamlined Programme.
The
doors opened on 7 PM but there was no audience. That made me
suspicious. However some Metalheads came inside the Sommcercasino
and Suborned didn’t have to perform in front of empty stands. The
Thrashers about charismatic singer Lucie Werlen kicked ass right
from the start and received standing ovation by the spectators for
their catchy Exodus influenced Thrash Metal. Lucie interrupted the
show in the middle in order to announce, that Remo Herrmann gonna
play the drums for the very last time with the band. Despite this
negative circumstance, Suborned convinced from beginning to end and left the stage after 30
minutes. The enthusiastic audience said goodbye with applause.

A
short interruption occurred and more spectators entered the
Sommercasino. Everybody knew what the deal is when “Papa Loves
Mambo” Intro by Perry Como pumped out the speakers. The Flash
Metallers Coilcry
appeared on stage and started their show with “Ants Will Drink
Our Oceans Dry”. The guitar fraction Sandro Gysin / Joachim Lötscher
inspired the audience with catchy guitar tunes. Singer Alex Büche
put in a masterly vocal achievement and claimed that they’d be
“Devastated Enemy”
and Coilcry would
perform after. Alex Büche received much laugh for this statement
and received standing ovations for his entertainin’ performance.
A
short story told by singer Alex Büche to the title track
“Strength Beyond Fear” from the upcoming album followed. The
CD gets released when they re-connected with the responsible
artwork designer for the Cover. Accidentally he’s Greek and got
paid in advance. Let’s see if all goes well. Anyhow, singer Alex
Büche and the other band members did a great show when they even
played only for 30 minutes with seven songs.

shot interruption occurred one more time and Arcturon
became the next act. The first track “Memories Tar The Road”
got played first and it wasn’t long until the audience made
itself noticed by applause. The band about singer Aljosha Gasser
and guitarist Florian Moritz and bassist Sämi Fischer did a hella
good show for 30 minutes and proved that “Melodic Death Metal
from Swiss Canton of Basel-Land” doesn’t have to hide from the
world competitors.

Now,
Devastating Enemy was
the headliner. I was very excited for the Austrians, because I
heard much positive news about the guys. They entered the stage
after 10 PM and have been eagerly awaited by the audience. Their
hybrid of Melodic Death Metal combined with Breakdowns and a
Modern Metal element caused great rejoicing. It’s no wonder that
these guys belong to the hottest Metal exports of the Alpine
state. The audience went freakin’ nutz and applauded at every
single song. This meant that the encore “I Surrender” had to
be played. After that, Devastating
Enemy said goodbye to the enthusiastic audience.

that they’ve done everythin’ right and gained new fans too.

Der im Moment grassierende
Electro Musik Trend geht vielen Headbangern und Metal Girls auf
die Nerven. Dieser Kommerz-Mist ist verantwortlich, dass die
heutige Jugend keine Alternative Musik mehr auf Fernsehsendern wie
MTV oder VIVA zu Gesicht bekommt.
Ferner ist es ungewöhnlich,
wenn nach einem Metal Konzert eine Dubstep / Drum’n’Bass Party
stattfindet. So was passt überhaupt nicht zusammen, aber das war
am heutigen Abend der Fall und verantwortlich für ein gestrafftes
Programm.
Um
19 Uhr war Türöffnung, aber von Publikum weit und breit keine
Spur. Dies liess mich stutzig werden. Allerdings kamen ein paar
Metaller ins Sommercasino rein und Suborned
mussten nicht vor leeren Rängen auftreten. Die Thrasher um
die charismatische Frontfrau Lucie Werlen gaben von Anfang an Gas
und sorgten für gute Laune. Ihr eingängiger von Exodus
beeinflusster Thrash Metal erhielt Applaus von den Zuschauern.
Mitten während dem Konzert unterbrach Lucie für einen Moment und
gab bekannt, dass Remo Herrmann heute zum letzten Mal hinter dem
Schlagzeug sitzt und mit der Band auftritt. Trotz dieses negativen
Umstandes überzeugten Suborned
von Anfang bis Ende und verliessen nach 30 Minuten die Bühne. Das
begeisterte Publikum verabschiedete sie mit Applaus.

kurzer Unterbruch folgte und das Sommercasino füllte sich mit
weiteren Zuschauern. Als Perry Comos „Papa Loves Mambo“ aus
den Lautsprechern erklang, wussten alle was gleich abgeht. Die
Flash Metaller Coilcry
betraten die Bühne und eröffneten mit „Ants Will Drink Our
Oceans Dry“ ihre Show. Die Gitarrenfraktion Sandro Gysin /
Joachim Lötscher begeisterten die Fans mit eingängigen
Gitarrenriffs. Sänger Alex Büche legte eine stimmliche
Glanzleistung hin und behauptete zum Spass sie wären
„Devastating Enemy“ und nach ihnen würden dann Coilcry
auftreten. Mit dieser Aussage erntete Alex Büche zahlreiche
Lacher und bekam Applaus für seine komödiantische Showeinlage.
Zu
„Strength Beyond Fear“, dem Titelsong vom kommenden Album
folgte eine kleine Story von Sänger Alex Büche. Die CD kommt
erst raus, wenn der Kontakt zum für das Album Cover zuständige
Artwork Designer wieder hergestellt wurde. Zufälligerweise ist
dieser Grieche und wurde im Voraus bezahlt. Wenn das mal gut geht.
Jedenfalls zeigte Sänger Alex Büche und die anderen
Bandmitglieder eine tolle Show, auch wenn die Spielzeit mit 30
Minuten relativ kurz ausfiel und daher nur sieben Songs performt
werden konnten.

einem erneuten Unterbruch waren Arcturon
als nächste Band dran. Mit „Memories Tar The Road“ wurde der
erste Song gespielt und es dauerte nicht lange bis sich das
Publikum mit viel Applaus bemerkbar machte. Mit ihrem Melodic
Death Metal gelang es der Band um Sänger Aljosha Gasser und dem
Gitarrist Florian Moritz & Bassist Sämi Fischer für 30
Minuten einen tollen Auftritt hinzu legen und bewiesen, dass sich
„Melodic Death Metal made in Basel-Land“ nicht vor der ausländischen
Konkurrenz verstecken muss.

waren Devastating Enemy
als Headliner am Zug. Auf die Österreicher war ich sehr gespannt,
denn ich hatte im Vorgeld viel Gutes über sie gehört. Nach 22
Uhr betraten sie die Bühne und wurden vom Publikum schon sehnsüchtig
erwartet. Ihr Hybrid aus Melodic Death Metal angereichert mit
Breakdowns und einem Schuss Modern Metal sorgte für viel Jubel.
Es ist kein Wunder, dass diese Jungs zu den heissesten Metal
Exporten des Alpenstaates gehören. Das Publikum ging während dem
Konzert ab und applaudierte bei jedem Lied. Dies hatte zur Folge,
dass mit „I Surrender“ eine Zugabe gespielt werden musste.
Danach verabschiedeten sich Devastating
Enemy vom begeisterten Publikum.

dem Konzert wurde am Merchandise Stand eifrig Devastating Enemy Merch verkauft was wiederum zeigt, dass sie alles
richtig gemacht und neue Fans dazu gewonnen haben.
