"The title ‘Deaf To Our Prayers’ is influenced by a line from a poem by Heinrich Heine that dealt with the situation of industrial workers from Silesia in the 19th century. Other songs like ‘Of No Avail’ or ‘The Final March’ were influenced by Gerhart Hauptmann’s drama ‘The Weavers’ "

This music is excellent for the live situation, and every time I saw them performing, the complete audience simply freaked out!

Ok, is this Bolt Thrower going melodic death? No, this hammer is Heaven Shall Burn as everyone of us know them! Actually not much has changed since “Antigone”, the previous Heaven Shall Burn album. A genuine mixture of the already named British deathers and many melodies and thrash like At the Gates and The Crown. Heaven Shall Burn managed to put out a very fresh record, without denying or changing to much what they did before.

The sound, as the most outputs nowadays, is excellent. The guitar sound gives that typical Swedish feeling as being heavy bottomed, but at the same time cutting as a razor. Very well recorded is, in my opinion, the drum. With a  crispy snare sound and well balanced double bass everything has been done as it should be!

This music is excellent for the live situation, and every time I saw them performing, the complete audience simply freaked out! And as it was to expect this album is simply a bunch of excellent deadly songs! Although, sometimes I would prefer a surprising moment now and then, as the band often composes with pretty similar structures. In despite of this deniable detail, listening to deaf to our prayers means to put fluid hate and rage in the veins. I seldom heard such a fucked up vocalist, so

Pretty funny at last the link to Metallica's “Fade to Black” in “Trespassing the Shores of your World”.

rating: 8,5/10
