LOTM is a band from Chicago formed in 2003. Their debut is an originally self released EP with now two additional songs. Their sound is a mix of grind, doom and death metal, and in their band info they are paragoned to legends as Slayer, Venom or Celtic Frost… well, this is perhaps a little to much…

The bass and guitars creates on "Carnage" a really deep and low tuned sound carpet, in a very few parts, I had this fabulous desolation feeling, that only few bands, among of them the legendary WINTER were able to focus. But in the main parts, LOTM are more groovy and rather faster.

The production is not very clear, but hold rather in the traditional "grindy" way, so that the low tuned guitars make it sometimes a little difficult to catch every single note. But in its whole, I can say that this debut is well done. Most of the riffs are interesting, and, if in the future the band will be able to eliminate some a little bit annoying parts while concentrating on the more catchy and groovy hooklines, that they are surely able to compose, we can hope to hear more of them in the future.
