Sense of melancholy.
Memoira’s
debut album is the first step to a kind of music that mixes gothic metal
and epic rock… The Finnish band is at his debut album and I admit that there are all requirements to become a good and valid band…but for the future I wish that the band dedicates more time to obtain a better production and a better sound recording. I understand that sometimes it’s not easy but this kind of music needs a “clean” production to be appreciated in a certain way…. In
this album I notice the great sense of melancholy and the sadness played
in good parts that put in evidence Lassi's emotional piano &
keyboard, able to create dramatic parts from which the song develops
itself. I
don’t like the sound of the guitars that can be improved as well as
the voice that sometimes gets a low volume comparing to the music… In
general, the songs are agreeable and the band shows a marked attitude to
create good music. If only they would have been improved, for what
the production concerns, I’m sure that this album could have been a
great goth/epic work! Jemina’s
voice is about perfect even if in my opinion in low tones it can be
improved…but my judgment is conditional on what I said before about
the volume of music compared to the voice… Thanks
to the perfect mixture of influences, they’re able to create a very
personal style that in my opinion gets inspiration from famous bands
like Nightwish, Epica, Evanescence…Memoira's good work puts in
evidence great sensitiveness and a good work of the rhythmic session,
which is supported by all the members by creating valid songs like
:Haunted that seems to gets
all the elements to become the hit of the album,
Incurable that begins with a great piano-intro, and also shows a
good progressive attitude that is another characteristic of the
band… that gives a great emotional part to the song….Amortization
in which Jemina’s voice touches stars thanks to the great emotional
instrumental part of the song in which Lassi shows his unmistakable
magic spell … An
album that should have been about perfect with another production…
