The soul of their
music is the pure
Rock.
It is a pleasure
to know Italian realities; many good underground bands that are
always well a great resource for those who love great music! It’s
not so new, but this band deserve your attention; Repsel
were
born in 2003,
and after many years they found their own natural inclination; This
album is the result of many years of work, and I’m quite satisfied
of the outcome. “Repsel”are captained by the good and skillful
“Marta” ; Delightful and passionate voice that shows confidence to
perform a not so “easy listening” sound, that goes from “Alternative
Rock”
to “Progressive”;
Rock feelings (sometimes close to 90’s)
join pieces of story that remind me of old
Progressive
Rock .
Beautiful and calm moments are alternated to articulated parts
made of riffs and great changes of style are the recipe of this
band. The magical voice of Marta is very original and you can
appreciate her essence in particular listening to “ Make up” , a
very sweet and passionate ballad in which Marta gives an essential
support to give a great emphasis. I want still underline the
skillful musicians of this band, and this is the winning card; You
can’t but be amazed listening to “I’ll
Erase
One
Everyday” that
mixes some stuff that remind of American alternative rock and
classic progressive rock sound, and Marta shows an incredible talent
to play the violin for an amazing solo
a great talent for the band.
“Everything Has
Changed” is another piece of beauty in which it
seems to listen to a great American artist, and I’m sure it won’t be
difficult to find a lot of followers from all those who appreciate
technical and articulated rock songs. The texts are full of
positive messages; the main one is quite clear : “Don’t give up”,
some fears come from your mind and those ones are the most dangerous
in absolute! “From
Dawn to
Dusk” we can unravel the knot with
determination and power, some hints can make the difference, and you
are the only one who can take your life by hands; Even if it seems
too easy to say these things, the band is able to put together words
and music in a very good way. In my opinion they could work more to
improve some arrangements but this is a personal opinion, and the
other improvable aspect is the production, it’s not in step with the
times, but also this aspect could otherwise be positive for those
who don’t appreciate ultra-modern productions.
The use of
electronic parts is minimal, The soul of their music is the pure
Rock,
contaminated by different influences but surely close to an old but
not that old era…. Good album, they deserve your attention!
