SCREAM SILENCE: "Seven Tears"         www.screamsilence.de                Moonstorm Records

Review  by Salvo "Lovedeath" Russo____

I was waiting 2 years for this band's comes-back!!!  They come from Germany and  take inspiration from dark and pop-wave. "Seven Tears" doesn't sound far from their previous cd,  the band doesn't use many eletronic loops ,and their sound is made by deep keyboards and soft guitar distortion , in the whole album  Hardy shows his very deep voice. But listening to their previous cd's i though that the natural evolution of this band could have been the electro-wave, but it hasn't been!
Pop-gothic-wave reign in  this cd; Some rhtymic parts show the influences of nordic Goth bands;
In my opinion, after you have listened  to all songs, in the long run Hardy's voice  become tedious , but if you like Peter Steele in low tones, surely you'll appreciate his style!

Let's talk about the songs.....
"Somewhere" gets a melancholic pop refrain inserted in  a sad song; "Timid try" follows the same way...but i notice some eletronic keyboard effects;
"Eternal Exile" is one of the best song of this cd...but in my mind it is growing  the idea that these songs seems similar to each other.
Another  song is"The pretend" that gets a good melody even if the structure seems something already listened!
In "Morphis" I notice a filtered voice in the strophe, that give value to this song! "Ebony sun" is a very sad song in which Hardy gives the best of himself...but nothing new!!!!
The strophe of "Asylum" is HIM influenced but the refrain is very boring......!!!!!
The melodies and the structure are all the same..and neither the title track is able to change my opinion about this cd. In my opinion they've found an own personal sound made by an easy but good arrangement ; this album may be appreciated at a first listening, but if you listen to all  songs with  the best attention , you may notice that there's no originality and there are few ideas!!!!!
