“Deep rock music”…if you want to feel deep emotions.

It was 2001 when I discovered a talent band called Blue Obsession and I was astonished how they were able to play the classic lovemetal with an incredible pathos …full of solutions, in my opinion a band that couldn’t remain only for underground…3 years later Blue Obsession becomes “Icon And The Black Roses” …a band able to realize one of the best lovemetal cd ever…compared to Razorblade Romance(HIM) I say that the debut album of I.a.b.r. is even better…a very masterpiece made by an incredible care for arrangements and production …an album that is still in my toplist….
In these years I wondered why this band vanished….and I was always waiting for a come back….
With my incredible surprise I discovered in Facebook that the founder member of Icon and The Black Roses was working to a new project called ACE OF HEARTS with 2 ex (and 1 actual) members of SECRET SPHERE.
After some months of hard work …and years of wait…I have the pleasure to present you one of the most awaited come back…Johnny Icon and his new band ACE OF HEARTS!!!

The new sound made by the band is awesome!!! An album that could let you get goose flesh…deep notes..melancholic hard rock made with the personal mark of Ace Of Hearts…In according to the new times, the album gets a powerful production…extremely tidy , and I cant but admit that this album will not disappoint the expectations…

The use of electronic stuff is minimal and is perfectly mixed into the songs that gets an arrangement near to modern rock mixed to classic lovemetal…
Johnny Icon, in my opinion one of the best lovemetal singers, is supported by a band with a complete Italian line-up ; Antonio Agate, Andrea Buratto and Federico Pezzinato coming from SECRET SPHERE…technical Italian Power Metal band and Gianmaria Saddi the guitarist coming from ODD DIMENSION…

Secret Sphere are known to be a very special power metal band that has produced awesome albums that sometimes are near to romantic metal and their way to power metal is absolutely original…and the influence of these guys is evident in this project…
9 songs…9killer-songs!!!! It’ incredible, a very powerful masterpiece for all those who appreciate good music…and here I don’t want to mention any musical definition…this is “deep rock music”…and if you want to feel deep emotions through music…this is another unforgettable album!!! How could I mention this or that song…I try to describe a general view of the song contained in this album.

“Eternal Life “ seems the perfect start for the album and I can image the opener track for an hypothetic concert…deep…powerful and absolutely catchy….a refrain that can’t be forgotten…played with an incredible pathos and it’ evident that all the members of the band loves this way to play music…every particulars is in evidence in order to give emphasis to the song…nothing is forgotten!!!

The title track is another melancholic suite in which the hard sound of guitars is involved into a very deep song…Overwhelming parts in which the band is able to find the perfect groove into a never predictable structure…

“Blood Stained” is a very emotional modern lovematal song that seems to mix the best of early HIM with the modern approach…AWESOME!!! I can’t but notice the way to compose songs by the band…It’s evident that 3/5 of the band comes from a technique band like SECRET SPHERE….The band never goes to Power but is able to create elaborated and never expectable parts…Johnny is perfect…as always…

“Elixir Or Poison” is another pearl….it involves the listener from the first to the last note thanks to the perfect groove found…
“From Leaves To Heart” is an acoustic ballad full of passion for piano, guitar, synth and voice….a dreaming atmosphere full of melancholic mood in according to the emotions that this album is able to give…

“Teardrop” is a colossal song…majestic and romantic…in which Johnny gives the usual special emphasis thanks to the perfect interpretation ; the band is able to create mood...and …and here I can find the confirmation that these musicians have found the perfect harmony playing together!!!

“So Many Words” is HIM influenced…somehow it reminds me to Lovemetal album period….
“Happiness Is Only Real When Shared”…is another pure melancholic rock song in which every instruments gives its contribution to create a perfect musical suite …in which Johnny makes us dream….
“The Revenge” closes this album in a perfect way; another pearl full of power in which the band amazes us with another killer refrain that remind me of the ICON AND BLACK ROSES….
9 tracks…9 rare diamonds of good music!
