Improbable , arrogant,  too ambitious and bombastic Gothic - Doom work that hides the pure emptiness.

Where Lovers mourn is an album that should have all the elements i love: gothic feelings, MUCH Doom, growls , obscurity, darkness, a beautiful flawless sound, the insertion of a beautiful piano, the idea to belong to a sphere of curse, to a  well blessed romantic malediction. Symphonic touches should enrich the landscape.  So why instead of being on cloud nine,  i consider it simply something that cannot be proposed ? Cause it's boring, deadly  boring, actually enriched only by a bombastic arrogance.  The sound is impressive, monumental, perfect . If archangels would have mastered it, they wouldn't have done a better job, but this is only the shell that contains the pure banality, dressed by super groovy revelation.   And such arrogance poorness should  be simply cancelled from the face of earth. Imo this is a wrong step from  Napalm as well  it was the horrible (always imo)   "Masquerade" from Golden Dawn, label that fortunately is more used to better products . The female vocals by Lisa Johannson seem to be gorgeous (we cannot say she is not able to sing, really  the opposite...)  but if you put them under the microscope you  will realize how   too ambitious and too wannabe in the context of this album they are ,  for god's sake are we not content enough with Within Temptation ,  Nightwish and Elis?  Vocals growls are excellent and fully wasted here. Songs are, frankly spoken, too long,  moaning , with no ideas if not the usual aim to be inspired and derelict à la Baudelaire, to be dark , obscure and vampiric at any cost.  Moreover they sound all the same . All this is (imo) an affront to  Doom , though i understand well that we deal with Gothic Doom. Whatever! Gothic Doom could be done in a really different way. For me Draconian is no revelation but only a waste of time and money invested on/by them, whatever! You can think what you want, you can say you are listening to a masterpiece if this makes you happy, but  believe me , and it's really not a matter of taste,  i bet that this bombastic whining  soon will be covered by bombastic dust.
