First question is who is Barbara Rubin?

Barbara

Barbara Rubin is simply a musician...singer, violinist.....teacher...and song writer.

Salvo

ok!!! this is essential...I can say more and more...but our readers are impatient to listen to your cd...what can you tell us about the publication?

Barbara

I can say them a hot news 'cause just this morning I sent my cd to an America distribution called MELODIC REVOLUTION RECORDS, from Orlando Florida.... for the digital download in the meantime I'm working for the physical cd.
I think that the cd will be available before the end of January....

 What a great news!!! Sincerely...what are your expectations for this début cd?

Barbara

Sincerely...I hope that people hear and know my name, but before of me.....know my music this is the most important thing....knowing my music, maybe, could know me...

...Your album is for me one of the best of 2009...even if our readers will appreciate it in this new year...can you tell us the secret of your music ?...how do you compose your songs?

Barbara

Music is a secret spell inside everyone of us.....I don't know how music born in me.....I think that it is a way that my thoughts can get out of me.

Salvo

...this is evident...but are there particular moments from which you get inspiration?

Barbara

so...I sit at the piano and I try to write what I would like to listen.....

Salvo

oh great!...your music is for me difficult to be defined...it' rock...classical..gothic..dark....70's....can you give us the right definition of it?

Barbara

unfortunately ....no....I don't know....surely is all of the genres you mentioned.... are every sort of music I'd sing and played....and listened surely my classical studies are very important for my music

it's evident that there's an important classical influence ...but I notice that you give a great importance to the arrangements that mixes with balance ...an acoustic dimension with the use of orchestra...can you give informations  about the arrangements?

Barbara

all the songs start by the piano.... they born with a sequence of harmonies.... and over them I can listen melodies....and every other voices result by the previous..... and this is the way I compose also the string....I treat them like voices, but I must to say that my musical education help me a lot to make efficient the final effect

it's for me a great work, that is valorized by very good production...The sequence of songs is very dreaming and I notice the presence of two interludes that are a great idea...is there a particular meaning in these two tracks?

Barbara

I written those interlude I didn't know what those ideas could become... but I never tried to extend them.... they was 2 moments of deep reflection.... reflecting sit at the piano....thinking' to violinist thoughts... but in those 2 interludes I speak about things very important for me... my land and my family... are very short songs but for me very intense... and you can hear them just like they are born

This album is full of collaborations of great musicians...Are you completely satisfied of the final result cd?

Barbara

sure!!! every little note played by everyone of the musicians made more precious this work...they are great musician but also great friends of mine and worked for my music like it should be their music! and now this is true!

Ok...Barbara is not only dreaming music...but also a great metaller...you sing for a progmetal band...can you tell us something about this project?

Barbara

yeh!!!!! they called Loreweaver, is another project very important for me.... they contact me in the end of 2008 'cause they have a lot of material for songs... they already recorded many instrumental track but still searching for a singer.... but they searching for a man's voice :-)))) so, when I met them they seems to me strange people, and I was very busy in that period but when I listened their music I'd cannot resist....and I accepted that collaboration and composed many of the vocals....and we became great friends!

Ok...the last question of our interview is the "game of the tower"...you're on a very high tower and with you there 3 bands...you have to push down two of them...saving the third one...with you there : DREAM THEATER, GENESIS, ALAN PARSON PROJECT....You can save only one band !!!who?

Ehmm……I save GENESIS
