Then
you experience fabulous shows.
There
are many big venues where bands can play shows, there are small
venues where bands can play shows and there are so called
“Underground” venues where you only get access if you know
someone. Then you experience fabulous shows and it doesn’t
matter if you live in Los Angeles, USA, New York City, USA or in
Zurich City, Switzerland.
I
experienced that when I checked out an event presented by Basel
booking agency Tersicore Booking in the City of Basel. Well, I
never heard of Block 56 and for this reason, I was excited to
figure out how the people feel there. When I entered the location,
I noticed a small room. Nevertheless, the interior convinced from
the beginning and the music sounded great inside.
Furthermore,
it’s great that the two young bands Wasted
Bullet from Netherlands and Our
Final Hour from United Kingdom were hired, which never played
shows in Switzerland before.
Wasted
Bullet
had the honour to open the event as first act. The Tilburger had
put down the gas pedal from the beginning and rocked the crowd.
One spectator was so brave, that he climbed on a guitar-amplifier
and jumped in the crowd. He had bad luck that they could bring him
down without getting injured.
Particularly
singer Robbert Van Caem pushed the crowd steady and praised them
for their effort. The mixture of Hardcore and Metalcore with
Breakdown elements convinced right from the start and a guest
singer helped out when the last track got played. Standing
ovations followed for this performance and singer Robbert thanked
all spectators for showin’ up.
The
last act of the evening was Our
Final Hour. The 6-piece hardcore hailing from Douglas, capital
of “The Isle of Man” started with the same motivation like
their predecessor Wasted Bullet. Singers Mikey Gatt and Jamie Carrington jumped around
shouted into the mics and showed much fun. Suddenly, the sound
engine broke down the music stopped. Technicians worked under
pressure to solve the problem. The engine started workin’ again
after five minutes and the Britain’s could continue. Despite of
technical difficulties, they left a good impression and gained new
fans.
Personal
for me, the evening was amazin’ and both acts played
professionally on a high level. Moreover, they didn’t show any
kind of hesitation and got in touch with the crowd. Big thanks go
out to Tersicore booking agency and the Block 56 team. It was
great to experience such a small event in this venue!
