29.08.2005 today news about  RUNEMAGICK - NASUM

Runemagick

Swedish "dark death metal" act RUNEMAGICK have uploaded audio samples from their upcoming album, "Invocation of Magick", at this location. The album, which was recorded in part at Los Angered Recording (owned by Andy LaRocque of KING DIAMOND) will be issued in a limited edition of 999 handnumbered copies. The CD, due in November, will feature eight brand new tracks, including the 14-minute epic "Black Magick Sorceress".

"Invocation of Magick" track listing:

01. Preludium Apocalypsis (4:47)
02. Invocation of Doom Runes (10:35)
03. Black Magick Sorceress (14:12)
04. Fisher of Souls (10:28)
05. Lower Worlds (1:02)
06. The Devils / Imperium Magnus Infernalis (9:29)
07. Conjuration of the Black Shape (7:00)
08. Witchcraft Gateways (12:22)

A 10" picture disc, entitled "Black Magick Sorceress", will be released in October in a limited edition of 333 copies. The disc will include the title track as well as two other non-album cuts.

"Black Magick Sorceress" (10" pic vinyl) track listing:

A) Black Magick Sorceress
B) 1. The Rising 2. Wizard with the Magick Runes (remix)

Check out the artwork for the CD and picture disc at this location.

Nasum

NASUM drummer Anders Jakobson has posted the following message on the group's official web site:

"This past week the artwork and booklet design for the last (?)NASUM release, the collection 'Grind Finale', was finalized and sent to the printer. Now I finally can give you a preview of the front cover for this release.

"The cover has been made by Relapse's art department — Orion Landau did the front cover and disc design and Jonathan Canady did the booklet design. I've worked very closely with these guys and the result is quite stunning, if you ask me. I am totally satisfied with everything.

"One of the most important things about the collection has been the packaging. I wanted this release to be something special, something that made it worth buying instead of downloading, which sadly has been the option for many people these days. Not surprising Relapse shared this idea and worked with me to find the ultimate package.

"We decided to do the same kind of CD package as TOOL used for their 'Salival' release a couple of years ago. The package has hard covers with the two discs on the inside and between the covers an 80-page (!) booklet with liner notes, lyrics and lots of photos and artwork, some previously not seen before. I guarantee that 'Grind Finale' will be worth the money it costs! (Note that we will not have the traycase and plastic box that 'Salival' has!)

"The release dates are as follows: USA: October 25th; Europe: October 31st; Japan: November (the Japanese edition will not include any bonus stuff!).

"So it’s roughly two months left until 'Grind Finale' is released. Remember that you can download 21 samples from the compilation at the audio/video page and read more about 'Grind Finale' in this statement and in this detailed information."

28.08.2005 today news about  Denis "Piggy" D'Amour - ALL THAT REMAINS -

TAPPING THE VEIN

Denis "Piggy" D'Amour

VOIVOD guitarist Denis "Piggy" D'Amour passed away Friday night (August 26) at approximately 11:45 p.m. due to complications from advanced colon cancer — so advanced that the disease had spread to his liver. D'Amour slipped into a coma Thursday night and died less than 24 hours later in the palliative care unit of a Montreal hospital, surrounded by family and friends. He was 45 years old.

Quebec City newspaper Le Soleil reported on 26th August that D'Amour — who was diagnosed with colon cancer earlier in the summer — first entered the hospital for a routine operation, but several complications led his doctors to suspect more problems. Then the grim verdict was revealed: the cancer, already too advanced, was inoperable.

Only two months ago, D'Amour was in the studio working on the 14th album from the Canadian thrash-metal pioneers VOIVOD. More than two dozen tracks are believed to have been demoed for the CD, for which the group recently inked a deal with The End Records. However, the band were forced to put studio work on hold while bassist Jason Newsted (ex-METALLICA) was treated for tendonitis.

Prior to his hospitalization, D'Amour laid down guitar tracks for a reunion CD from the legendary AUT'CHOSE, a '70s band from Montreal. That album is expected to surface next summer.

All That Remains

ALL THAT REMAINS, the Massachusetts-based act featuring former SHADOWS FALL vocalist Philip Labonte, have announced the addition of bassist Jeanne Fagan to the group's ranks. Fagan, who has been playing with the group for the past few weeks as a session bassist, has accepted the offer to join the band as a permanent member. "We welcome Jeanne to the team as she brings an invaluable amount of talent and charisma to the band," the group write on their web site.

ALL THAT REMAINS' sophomore album, "This Darkened Heart", is available now on Prosthetic Records. The follow-up to 2002's "Behind Silence and Solitude" was produced by KILLSWITCH ENGAGE guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz.

Tapping The Vein

According to Heather Thompson's post at  TTV official forum, all details have been worked out and TTV will  begin recording on Sept 3rd with Neil Kernon. http://www.auslander.net . Hether says: "Neil is an extremely talented and sought after producer and we feel quite proud to be working with him."

ADMIRAL FREEBEE (Belgien) * ATREYA (Spanien) * CHARING-X * CONCUBINE * JULIAN SAS BAND * LOHUES & THE LOUISIANA BLUES CLUB * HAZE * GABRIEL RIOS (Belgien/Puerto Rico) * JE MOEDER * GROLSCHBUSTERS * EPICA * L.I.N.E. * DANDIMITE AND THE FANATICS * INTWINE * ROOSBEEF * LITTLE AXE (England/USA) * THE ANALOG PROJECT * MADRUGADA (Norwegen) * STRAWL AND OUT OF MANY * MOSTLY AUTUMN (England) * XYSTUS * NECK (Irland) * NEMESEA * ROFFENTOFF * NOVASTAR (Belgien) * STREETCARB * PARADISE LOST (England) * THE CLEMENTINES (SIEGER DES ERIK WEVER AWARD) * ROY PACI & ARETUSKA (Italien) * SARAH BETTENS/K'S CHOICE (USA/Belgien)

Former VADER Drummer DOC

Former VADER drummer Krzysztof "Docent" Raczkowski (a.k.a. Doc) has passed away at age 35. No further details about his death are currently available. [UPDATE: This has now been confirmed by VADER's official web site, Vader.pl]

In a March 2005 statement announcing Doc's departure from the group, VADER frontman Peter said, "Doc pretty hard tried to 'fight' against his weaknesses, which were troubles for all of us. Finaly he had not prevailed over that battle... All in all, he attempted. . . VADER today is not just a friendship anymore — it's our life with armies of man involved in music, releases and — first of all — fans waiting for shows or new albums... This is a high responsibility, not too many know about. If a person, even the most talented one, cannot stand it — [he] has to leave... That was Doc's decision as well."

After All

Check out After All  page at Myspace.com. It has an MP3-player with a couple of
tracks from the "Mercury Rising" and "The Vermin Breed" albums.

Battlelore

Battlelore has entered the Finnish Top-40 album charts at number 38!

Battlelore has just released a new music video for the track "Storm of the Blades". The Video was produced by Markku Kirves who also edited
Korpiklaani's "Kädet Siipina" video clip.  You may download the clip from
www.battlelore.net  or www.napalmrecords.com.

Draconian

Due to personal setbacks, keyboardist Andreas Karlsson will not perform live at the Summer Breeze Open Air. Draconian have been rehearsing with session-member Sanne Karlsson, who will replace Andreas temporarily. She will fill in for Andreas during his absence. Her commitment to Draconian is highly appreciated by the band.
Peter Lautsen, bass player for Swedish Death Metal acts such as Cold Existence and Maleficio, will also perform at Summer Breeze, as well as other live dates this year. Whether or not he will become Jesper Stolpe's replacement has yet to be decided.

Draconian is preparing to record a so-called bonus album this fall. The album will feature three new songs (incl. "The Dying" and "Of Love and Shadows"), new versions of two to three demo songs (incl. "The Gothic Embrace") and three covers (incl. "Gothic" by Paradise Lost). "The Burning Halo" is the album's working title and should be released via Napalm Records in November, at the latest.

Enthroned

Sabathan will join Demonic Christ from USA on bass and will record the next Demonic Christ album in September.

Korpiklaani

Jarkko Aaltonen continues as Korpiklaani's permanent bass player. Arto, who began his military service in July, has decided not to return to the clan, citing his busy personal life.
Nevertheless, the band is more than happy with his replacement, who will keep Korpiklaani's rythmic artillery firing away.
Like Jonne, Jarkko hails from the forests of Vesilahti.

Lacrimas Profundere

Following a successful tour with Subway to Sally and 69 Eyes, as well as live performances on the German festival tour, Lacrimas Profundere return to the drawing board to soon deliver "Ave End's" follow up.  The first 10 songs have been written and recorded in a rough mix.   Furthermore, the band is currently negotiating the details for their next tour, which should take them to many national and international destinations.

Midnattsol

Having cemented their status as a live act with numerous shows through Germany with the likes of IN EXTREMO, SUBWAY TO SALLY and SCHANDMAUL, Nordic folk metal act MIDNATTSOL are now in the process of writing new songs. According to the band, the new material is more folk oriented than the songs on their debut album, Where Twilight Dwells, and a little bit heavier. The band has been toying with the idea of using male growling (read: trollcore) vocals as an enhancement on some of the new material, but according to vocalist Carmen Elise this is nothing more than a thought at the moment.

In other news, the official MIDNATTSOL forum has been up and running, enabling fans to chat with one another and the band members themselves. Go to this www.midnattsol.com/forum to check it out.

Visions of Atlantis

Visions Of Atlantis are currently busy with songwriting for the next album! Studio time is estimated for January 2006!

The new CD, featuring the long-anticipated return of vocalist Lord Worm, was recorded at Studio Vortex in St-Constant, Canada by producer Sebastien Marsan, and again infuses extreme music with awe-inspiring precision, rabidly dynamic rhythms, and mouth-foaming viciousness. The album was mastered by UE Nastasi at Sterling Sound in New York City and features artwork by François Quévillon, Filip Ivanovic and Martin Lacroix. With eleven tracks totaling about 50 minutes, "this is a concept album where every song has its own identity. We made sure to have a lot of flavors and different rhythms and tempos throughout the whole process, the variations in the tracks may surprise some of you," the band write on their web site.

CRYPTOPSY will be steamrolling across North America with SUFFOCATION and ABORTED from late September to November.

08.08.2005 today news about  SLIPKNOT + UNEARTH + AS I LAY DYING - DREAM EVIL - MINISTRY

Slipknot

SLIPKNOT have tapped UNEARTH and AS I LAY DYING to open for them on their fall tour. Unlike SLIPKNOT's spring outing, which saw the Iowa-based nine-piece performing in arenas, the upcoming month-long trek will consist primarily of multiple dates in smaller venues. So far, only a three-show run in New York City has been announced:

Oct. 30 – Nov. 2 – New York City, NY @ Nokia Theatre

Dream Evil

Vocalist Niklas Isfeldt and bassist Peter Stålfors have officially left DREAM EVIL, the Swedish band featuring acclaimed producer Fredrik Nordström (HAMMERFALL, IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR, SPIRITUAL BEGGARS, etc.) and drummer Snowy Shaw (KING DIAMOND, MERCYFUL FATE, MEMENTO MORI, NOTRE DAME). Peter and Niklas' statement on the matter reads as follows:

"Because of personal issues and the fact that Niklas has problems with constantly recurring health problems, we have taken the painful decision to leave the band.

"All our friends are telling us that it's a bad idea to leave the band now when it's starting to get big, but you may come to a point in your life where you have to make a choice. We have now come to this point in our lives and the choice we have made is to put more time into our families and work.

"We've known for a long time that the bigger DREAM EVIL becomes, the more time it will take from the other important things in our lives, and in time it was inevitable to make a decision. Therefore, we have decided to leave Dream Evil.

"There are no hard feelings between us and the other guys in DREAM EVIL. We're still the best of friends and they totally understand the position we are in.

"So it is with the best confidence we now pass over the mantle to the new members Jake E Berg and Tommy Larsson [bass; ex-JAGGERNAUT, CHASTISEMENT]. They have our blessings and we are confident they will fill our shoes just perfectly and leave nothing for the fans to be desired.

"We wish to thank all fans for the support through the years and for making the time in DREAM EVIL a memory for life."

05.08.2005 today news about  PARTY.SAN - ARCH ENEMY - BRAND NEW SIN - DIVINE EMPIRE

Party.San

"Unfortunally KAAMOS have to cancel their gig at PARTY.SAN 2005. The fact
that the mother of Chris Piss(drums) died very unexpected makes it
unrealizeable for the band to play at Party.San Open Air.

The german kings of Death Metal NECROPHAGIST will jump in the spot of
Kaamos.  Get all infos via: www.necrophagist.de"

Arch Enemy

ARCH ENEMY's video for the song "Nemesis" has been posted online at Yahoo! Music. The clip was shot in late June with director George Bravo, who previously worked with the Swedish/German extreme metallers on their "We Will Rise" video.

"Nemesis" is the first single/video off ARCH ENEMY's new album, "Doomsday Machine" (Century Media Records), which has sold 12,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD was co-produced by the band and Rickard Bengtsson at Slaughterhouse Studio in Sweden and was mixed by Andy Sneap at Backstage Studios in Derbyshire, U.K.

ARCH ENEMY are currently touring the U.S. as part of this year's Ozzfest, which kicked off July 15 in Mansfield, Massachusetts.

Brand New Sin

The Syracuse-based hard rock quintet BRAND NEW SIN are currently preparing to embark on the "Summer of Rock" tour next week, which is a three-week trek alongside SUPAGROUP and DOG FACED GODS. The group just completed a national U.S. tour with SCUM OF THE EARTH and SOCIETY 1, their first nationwide trek since 2002, to rave reviews. Their latest video for the track "Black and Blue", shot by acclaimed director Dale Resteghini (THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, HATEBREED), is now in heavy rotation on Fuse TV's "Metal Asylum" and MTV2's "Headbanger's Ball". BRAND NEW SIN recently completed a new video for the track "Days Are Numbered", once again with Resteghini.

Divine Empire

Phoenix, Arizona-based Crash Music, Inc. has announced that they have signed a licensing agreement with Century Media Records to issue in the U.S. the new DIVINE EMPIRE album, "Method of Execution". A November 1 release is expected.

Produced once again by Jeremy Staska (MALEVOLENT CREATION, HATEPLOW, REMEMBERING NEVER, NONPOINT, POISON THE WELL), "Method of Execution" sees the band moving away from their straight-ahead death metal origins "to include a variety of influences, helping distance them from their MALEVOLENT CREATION brethren," according to a press release. "Stronger melodies, catchier song structures and hints of classical, doom, black, and even classic rock all rear their ugly heads."

DIVINE EMPIRE bassist/vocalist Jason Blachowicz (ex-MALEVOLENT CREATION) recently announced the addition of Marco Martell (guitar), David Kinkade (drums) (both from Chicago) and Frank Cusimano (guitar; from Pennsylvania) to the group's ranks. The new DIVINE EMPIRE line-up will be re-locating to Florida in the next few weeks to get the songs tight and ready for annihilation supporting "Method of Execution" in 2006.

03.08.2005 today news about  KATAKLYSM - STARKWEATHER - OVERKILL and PRONG - DEICIDE - DESOLATE WAYS - PLAY FAST OR DON'T FESTIVAL II

Kataklysm

KATAKLYSM vocalist Maurizio Iacono has issued the following update:

"The artwork contest is now over... We would like to thank everyone, from our fans to artists from the 4 corners of the world that have sent in their visions. The response was great!!... Now we've got to go through all of them (there's shitloads to look at!) and make a decision with our record label Nuclear Blast, so bare with us and we'll let you know who the winner is soon...

Just flew back to Chicago this morning from Montreal. I finished all my vocal tracks for the new album and I must say this was the most difficult album I've had to record! Some of these songs have crazy tempos and I had to step it up a notch, but I'm very happy with the end result... According to J-F the album should be finished in a few weeks. - Maurizio"

STARKWEATHER is brutal, beautiful and haunting, combining an unparalleled level of pure emotion and the most twisted lyrics, with the most awe-inspiring, brutal and eerie music you'll ever hear. Their newest endeavor Croatoan is an album that’s been 2 years in the making. They’ve endured periods of dormancy, but now they have "officially" reawakened with Croatoan, featuring the core lone up of Resmini, Forkin, and Rosa, with contributions by Liam Wilson on bass (THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN) and Jim Winters on guitar (EARTH CRISIS, TURMOIL, THE PROMISE), and with additional percussion provided by Tim Simmons. While it’s their first release in nearly a decade, it’s fresh yet vicious, kinda like a grizzly on its first hunt for food after awaking from its hibernation period. Fans of TODAY IS THE DAY, CONVERGE, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, OVERCAST and GORGUTS will rejoice.

Behemoth

Polish death/black metallers BEHEMOTH have once again joined forces with Joanna Rechnio, one of the leading video producers in Poland (who also directed BEHEMOTH's "Conquer All" clip), to shoot a video for the song "Slaves Shall Serve" from their latest album, "Demigod". Due to controversial scenes in the clip, MTV has reportedly requested a "soft" version for possible airplay.

Commented BEHEMOTH mainman Nergal: "I'm still pretty pissed about [having to tone down certain scenes in the video]. I mean, check out all those hip hop or MARILYN MANSON videos. Are they any less controversial than this? I doubt it. I hate going to any compromise but what the hell, I'm pretty sure that most of the video channels (read: most liberated and tolerant ones) worldwide will play the unedited version. The truth is that I had this need to express myself in a more…extreme way. For me it's just another act of great transgression and manifestation of sincere and unrestrained ART. I guess that some of you, especially religious people, would find it offensive…but hey, I'm not here to please any of you but to eventually make up your minds. This is how I see things and how I want you to receive me. Like it or not, this doesn't really matter much to me. I did what I wanted and I'm damn proud of it. I felt like our statements in 'No Sympathy For Fools', 'Christians to the Lions' or 'Slaves Shall Serve' have already been misinterpreted many times, therefore making the 'Slaves' video essential to show our attitude towards all that has anything to do with Christianity (or in this case ANY stagnated, organized and institutional religions)."

Known primarily as a producer of rock and pop artists in her home country (Poland), Rechnio had never worked with an extreme metal act prior to her collaboration with BEHEMOTH.

The band will be joining an already much-anticipated lineup including Mudvayne, Hatebreed, Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, As I Lay Dying, Trivium and Swedish metal legend In Flames.

It appears rumours are abounding that we have parted ways, however be sure that if and when we put this beast to rest — you will all be advised of all of intentions and/or reasons via this official site. The flame still burns, however when or if we will return if the live arena — we cannot foresee. It could be three months, could be never. We will still endeavour to reply to messages sent to the band email address, however during this period we hope you can understand if our focus is elsewhere. That is all."

Huntenpop Festival

35 Gruppen mit u.a. deutschen Bands In Extremo und AK 4711

Huntenpop Festival

29.05.2005 today news about  TAPPING THE VEIN - CHTON - CRADLE OF FILTH

Tapping The Vein

My space URL for TTVhttp://www.myspace.com/tappingthevein .

Chton

CHTON, the Norwegian death metal band featuring Kenneth of KEEP OF KALESSIN and Torstein of MANES, have parted ways with drummer Vidar. "The split is totally amicable and has been something we've seen coming for a little while now," the band write on their web site." As the activity in camp CHTON has only increased, he has chosen to step down and focus on his family life. The gig we did at Nattrock was the last thing Vidar did with us. Horns raised to everyone that was there! We have found a replacement, and will announce this as we post pictures of the new line-up. Thanks to Vidar for his dedication to CHTON, and good luck for the future!"

CHTON played a support gig for the project Bunker Dora on Thursday, May 26. "It has been a heated debate in Norwegian press lately concerning the location of a planned national centre for rock and pop that will include a music archive and a museum," the band write on their web site. "This support gig, which had 25 bands on the bill, was in support of placing this centre in Trondheim. Other bands that played was (among others) TNT, LUMSK, TERJE TYSLAND, TUNGTVANN, SUZUKA etc. Picture from the CHTON gig can be found here and a backstage picture with members of CHTON + members of LUMSK, SUZUKA, JAA9 & ONKELP, Margaret Berger from 'Idol' (crap 'talent' search TV show) etc. can be found here."

CHTON's debut album, "Chtonian Lifecode", was recorded, mixed and mastered at Godt Selskap Studio between April and June 2004 and was released last August through Retribute Records. The show, which was staged as a tribute to WINDIR frontman and founder Valfar (who died in January 2004), featured WINDIR guitarist Sture on most of the vocals, as well as guest vocals by Cosmocrator (MINDGRINDER) and Valfar's brother Vegard. Also included on the DVD are WINDIR live clips from Gaupne (1996), Sogndal (2001 and 2002) and the Inferno Festival in Oslo 2002, plus backstage material, an interview with Valfar from Norwegian national TV, and a photo gallery. VREID guitarist Ese produced the DVD at Hváll's Studio 1184 last fall. The DVD's cover artwork was designed by Norwegian painter Abolph Tidemand.

Testament

TESTAMENT and friends will be playing a benefit concert on July 9, 2005 at The Pound in San Francisco. Proceeds from the "Thrash of the Titans"-style show — the band's first in the San Francisco area in over two years — will aid in the financial recovery for families dealing with life-altering medical diagnosis.

Koldborn

Download a rehearsal recording of the new KOLDBORN track "Neural Bound" at this location.

KOLDBORN's latest EP, "Devil of All Deals", was recorded and mixed at Borsing Recordings by Jacub "Ilmer" Bredahl and is the band's first CD to feature new members Bjørn Bihlet (guitar) and Lars Bjørn-Hansen (vocals).

The group, who split with longtime frontman Martin Leth in early 2003, issued their debut album, "First Enslavement", in October 2002 through Diehard Music.

Opeth

Sweden's OPETH have posted the following message on their official web site:

"We can now officially announce that OPETH has signed a worldwide contract with Roadrunner records. The rumours were true! The new album is set to be released sometime in the late August or early September of 2005.

"OPETH has cancelled their Vienna/Austria Aerodrome festival appearance (May 27) due to the recording taking longer time than expected. We are very sorry for the fans who expected to see OPETH there, but we hope to return to Austria as soon as humanly possible!

"The recording process is going well. One song is mixed and done, another one in the process of being mixed. Solos are being recorded as well as death screams. Some songtitles? 'Ghost of Perdition', 'The Baying of the Hounds', 'Isolation Years' and 'Harlequin Forest'. The record plan to be done by June 1.

Heathen

San Francisco Bay Area metallers HEATHEN have issued a short statement regarding the passing of their former bassist Mike "Yaz" Jastremski. The statement reads as follows:

"We are truly stunned by the news of the passing of our metal brother Mike 'Yaz' Jastremski. He passed on this morning [May 23]. We will all miss him dearly. May he rest in peace."

Jastremski performed on HEATHEN's classic 1987 debut "Breaking the Silence" before leaving the group a short time later to form PIGS. He eventually rejoined HEATHEN in time for their appearance at the August 2001 Thrash of the Titans benefit concert for TESTAMENT frontman Chuck Billy.

HEATHEN parted ways with Jastremski in June 2004 over what was rumored at the time to be Yaz's "continued drug and drinking problems." He was replaced in the group by Jon Torres, who had previously participated in such bands as THUNDERHEAD, WARNING SF, ULYSSES SIREN, LAAZ ROCKIT and ANGEL WITCH.

HEATHEN guitarist Lee Altus said at the time of Yaz's final departure from the band, "We're sorry to see [Yaz] go and wish him all the best. He is a good friend and I'm glad that we parted ways without any animosity and can still remain best of friends."

14.05.2005 today news about  MARDUK - OVERKILL - TYPE O NEGATIVE - DORO

Marduk

MARDUK's official web site has been updated with the following message:

"MARDUK will be back on the road touring at the end of August. According to the management, Europe will be hit first, followed by South America. The first tour dates will be posted soon..."

MARDUK were forced to cancel their European tour earlier in the year after drummer Emil Dragutinovic's arm was broken in a fight back in February.

The band recently put the finishing touches on the videos for the songs "Throne of Rats" and "The Hangman of Prague".

MARDUK's ninth full-length album, "Plague Angel", was released in the U.S. in March. The album came out in Europe last November via Blooddawn/Regain Records.

Overkill

Drummer Tim Mallare has offically left OVERKILL, according to a posting on the group's web site. Mallare is said to have exited the group of "his own accord. His contribution over the last 14 years have been at the highest level. He will be missed!

Joining OVERKILL as the permanent replacement for Mallare is Ron Lipnicki, formerly of HADES. "[Ron's] work and talents have been tireless through the band's Euro tour," according to a post on the band's web site. "OVERKILL looks forward to presenting their newest member to YOU on the road!"

Tim Mallare originally came into the group prior to the recording of 1993's "I Hear Black".

Type O Negative

Despite a message on the band's official web site that seems to suggest otherwise, TYPE O NEGATIVE frontman Peter Steele HAS NOT DIED.

The band, who are famous for their dark sense of humor, have spent much of the last few months preparing material for their SPV Records debut, which is expected to be recorded later in the year.

TYPE O NEGATIVE cancelled their U.S. tour last fall in order to allow Steele to undergo further tests after "undisclosed anomalies" were discovered during a medical exam. A February 11, 2005 update on Peter's condition from TYPE O NEGATIVE drummer Johnny Kelly stated, "There really isn't much to report other than he's doing fine and his health is improving daily."

from Blabbermouth

Doro

According to a posting on Doro Pesch's official web site, the former WARLOCK frontwoman recently underwent surgery for an undisclosed ailment and "she is already recovering." As a result, all of her previously announced tour dates scheduled for this month had to be cancelled. No further information is currently available.

12.05.2005 today news about  COLT

Colt/Living With Eating Disorders

From the ashes of Living With Eating Disorders grew a brand new animal...

Andrea Kerr, Jared Christian Hawkes and Mark Bishop, keen to move beyond the controversy surrounding the name, and the increasing concern over Andrea’s self-injury, took some time away from gigging to concentrate on recording an album. Time away from the stress of the London gigging circuit gave the band a clearer outlook to decide what was important to them and reassess their reasons for making music. Still convinced that making music together was what they wanted to do most, they decided to leave behind the name, the pressure that went with it and create a new beast!

Colt have an album in place and will return with some live dates in the summer.
