| Very emotional moments that will be the joy of doom-death fans, into the abyss of suicide-doom |
Sufferance,
Desperation,. ..darkness....A claustrophobic travel into the abyss with
this new album made by this band that return with a good release in my
opinion too much better than the previous one!
A very dark doom opera full of sadness... obscurity and sadness, and for me couldn't exist a better definition of Suicide doom metal for this one man band!
In
this new album we notice the great participation as producer and drummer of
Giuseppe Orlando (Novembre), and also the special participation of
Steve Wolz ( drums too), without forgetting the essential keyboards
support by Alessio Fagrelli (Morgana's Kiss) and I affirm that Marco(the
only real memeber of Deinonychus) has had a great
support from them, even if he's always the heart of this band! The album
was recorded at the Outer Studios Sound in
This is defined by My Kingdom a real apocalyptic soundtrack for your innermost nightmares....and even if there some boring moments , on the whole the album leaves a mark thanks to real dark visions realized with a decaying rhythmic session and very good keyboard sounds.....
The
growling vocals are full of sadness, and may be too much weeping
in some parts.....Not all rhythmical parts give emphasis to the songs
...but at the same time....as I said before, there are very emotional
moments in this album that will be the joy of doom-death fans!
The opener track is made by an easy riff guitar and the usual growl vocals ...some good drums parts gives passion to the song...and also some good keyboards parts makes it a good song in according with their classic song style!
"We
have uncovered a question and now we must unearth the answer"
is another travel into sufferance...but in my opinion there are not
particular passionate moments....a not inspired song and it doesn't
leave a mark in this release!
"To diagnose the fortunes of paranoia
consuming consciousness and sanity" is an obscure and
sad travel into the abyss of doom with a touch of pure death metal
and also gothic in some passages! A very great song.....!
"Long I feared that my sins would return to visit me, and the cost is more than I can bear" is another fair doom track without any moments to be remembered ...Anyway I underline the good arrangement that has been realized with great care....
The songs length (except the first and the latest one) is more than 10 minutes......and not always a whole song gets agreeable passages...their doom gets successful parts full of inspired sensations, but also some tedious ones ...but it's important to underline the will to realize a travel into the abyss of suicide doom...
The album is closed in a great way with the weeping and obscure "Reasons to open your eyelids and awake the apocalypse Iris is telling you " : a very good song full of intensity and realized with a great arrangement and with great passion!
On
the whole this is a good album and If Deinonychus
will improve some particulars , the next one could be a
very great doom opera!
