MY DYING BRIDE: booooooooooring.

Hy Marco!!First of all for the great work of this album...you're Deinonychus...but in this album we can't but notice the important presence of very good guest musicians...how much has been important their support, and tell us about this collaboration....
Well as you can hear their importance hasn't been unnoticed, I couldn't have done it without them. Their collaboration came partly out of the blue. Steve Wolz the drummer already did some rehearsals for the album before we went to Rome in order to record the album. Giuseppe the other drummer, improvised one track in the studio, so did the keyboardplayer Alessio Fagrelli, who came in at the very last minute.

This album gets very melancholic passages ....there's a touch of Doom, Death, but also Gothic..is it true?
I can see your point in the doom/death style, but yet I can't find myself pleased with this gothic-thing, as I mainly connect gothic with something very melodic and soft sounding, but maybe this is my ignorant look at the whole. I saw my album reviewed in the Dutch Aardschok Magazine, and the said that the album was a goth-album, which I can't relate to at all.

Are you satisfied of the production?
Yes indeed, it's thick and heavy, just as I wanted it to be.

There are very inspired moments in which I notice a great passion ....what are your inspirations?
Daily life, and the suffering we see in the world every day. As well the great stories I come up with he he.

In your opinion ...what are the essential bands for your musical growth?
Oh, bands like Hypocrisy AT THE GATES, many soundtrack composers, and electronic bands like FUNKER VOGT or VNV NATION, but yet this is just a rough inspiration, as I mainly try to create my own turn into my musical style.

Why Deinonychus is a one-man band ? In the past I notice some important collaborations...but nowadays Deinonychus is Marco...
This is not really intentional, you still might consider Deinonychus a two-piece outfit, with William Sarginson as my permanent drummer, he just couldn't record "Insomnia" together with me.

What do you think about Italian underground metal scene?
I think for Italy goes the same as for Holland, we might not have the quantity on bands like other European countries have, but therefore we have cult bands. In your case like Monumentum, Death SS, Abhorym etc. And...I must admit that I really like this band called FORGOTTEN TOMB. For some reason people always consider us to play in the same manner, which in my opinion isn't true at all.

What music is currently rolling out from your speakers of the stereo ? Is there a style, different from Doom, you love to listen to?
Believe it or not.... at the moment I'm listening to Gigi D'Agostino. I listen to all kinds of music, as long as I dig it.

Now, a question about the future....Are there projects for deinonychus, and for your musical carrier in general?
At the moment I'm just doing nothing really, one might call this a lack of inspiration. I consider picking up some musical approach in 2005 again, as with Deinonychus and other things, but for the moment be.... i just need some distance from it.

Are there live-shows scheduled?
No.

Ok...As my last question I propose our usual and typical Gryphonmetal last question for the bands we interview for the first time... The game of the Tower' : there is a very high tower and on this tower three bands are waiting for you and you have to push down two of them to let them fall saving the third one. For you there are: Candlemass, Cradle of Filth, My Dying Bride.

CANDLEMASS-They' ve risen for the 3th time, and still make progress if you ask me.
CRADLE OF FILTH-Feels like they have a burn out, nothing new comes from them.
MY DYING BRIDE-booooooooooring.

So, drop the Cradles and the Brides, and give Candlemass another chance. Amen! And they better not fuck up, otherwise they can go down the tower to pick up the remains of the Cradles and Brides again ha ha ha.

Thank you Marco!
