Another band from Finland!! This release is an example of pure rock, played from a band impassioned of 80's rock.
Negative plays a pure hardrock, with a melancholic influence that sometimes makes them similar to pop-gothic bands.
The sound  reminds me to Skid Row, Warrant, White Lion, in particular concerning the guitar riffs!
But for me there's a bit of gothic influence in the composition approach ."The Moments of our Love" gets a very romantic refrain sung with an unique intensity, this track is similar to those ones of the Gothic bands of new generation!!! "Lost Soul" is another pop-gothic song nearer to Entwine.
"Bleeding" reminds me to 80's aor...do you remember 21Guns? Another perfect mixture between hard rock and nu-goth is "After All" in which i notice a hard rock guitar riff , a guitar goth arpeggio and a very melancholic refrain!
But in my opinion there are many bad songs too, that seem a copy of songs played without originality 15years ago by hystoric bands! In the list of avoidable songs...i have to underline: "Naive", "Inspiration", "Misery", "Last Hero"...these songs are too much similar to the old hard rock bands, there's no originality. In my opinion  they have to find their personal style...at the moment there are too many influences that make them too much similar to the other bands.! Moreover I don't like the guitar distortion used in every song: if it should be stronger it could give a better power and expressiveness to the songs, but this is a guitarist's personal taste.  The vocalist  gets a very good voice full of low and medium tones, and he's able to give the right touch to the songs with a style and a timbre nearer to 80s hard-rock singers.
This cd is closed with a lovely romantic ballad "Still alive" a song that reminds me to 80's slow rock!!!.
This is the debùt album, i hope for a better second CD, but  there's anyway something enjoyable to be appreciated in this "War of Love", so i invite you warmly to listen to it.
